Welcome

On behalf of the Harvard Business School Energy & Environmental Club, we are pleased to welcome you to the 8th annual Energy Symposium on Saturday, October 22, 2011. The Energy Symposium is the largest forum at HBS to focus on the current and future opportunities and challenges in the energy industry. This year’s events will feature two keynote speakers, over 30 panelists in eight panels, and will draw over 300 students and professionals.

This year’s conference will feature The Start-Up Showcase with around 20 cleantech startups! The HBS E&E Club is partnering with the MIT Energy Club to host an energy company showcase and networking event, which will be the culmination of the conference activities and a focal point for many attendees. Select cleantech firms will have the opportunity to provide information about their company and to interact with representatives from other companies as well as conference attendees and industry stakeholders including investors, entrepreneurs, press, academics, Harvard & MIT graduate students, etc.

We are excited to announce the following keynote speakers:

  • Dr. Zhengrong Shi, Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer, Suntech Power
  • Tommy Inglesby, Principal, North American Natural Gas Practice and Global Unconventional Oil & Gas Line, McKinsey & Company

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the key issues and trends relevant to investors, entrepreneurs, and practitioners in the energy industry. The symposium will provide insights and answer questions about the current state and future of the energy industry and give attendees a chance to network with leading investment professionals representing a diverse group of firms, markets and geographies.
